The reason for the season - or at least for the destination!

Do these two people look related? Like father and son? Well, they're as good as! Ken and his family are the reason we stopped in Clayton. Ken is an incredibly experienced and successful jack of all trades, but his passion is for flying helicopters (the why and the how of how he and Bill met...). When a promising job opportunity of doing what he loved opened up in his homeland of Canada, he chose that over Las Vegas and flying tourists over the Grand Canyon (his most recent occupation). He and wife Riza were just relocating to Kingston at the same time we were to be in NY - easy choice, head north to meet up! It wasn't a very long visit but a very worthwhile one!

To get over to Kingston required two ferry rides, the midpoint being Wolf Island (part of Canada and where we went through Customs going over). The first ferry was quite pricey, although small and a short ride.

Wolf Island was a beautiful surprise! Gorgeous farms and flowers, and windmills everywhere!

Near the head of the line for the next ferry was a cute old car - a Citroen 2CV. We were way back in line but had plenty of time to check out our close-by surroundings since the next ferry was almost an hour's wait (we'd just missed one)!

The "bridge" is still up - it's not boarding time yet! Cool clouds though... Sort of looks like some kind of time portal!?

Arriving at Kingston. This may have been part of Fort Henry.

The coolest family in Kingston! Gaven, Ken, Bill (adopted in), Riza, and Keone (and forgive me if I've just slaughtered the spelling on most of those names!!). Wish we all lived/traveled closer together...!!
