Guadalupe

(this is a little out of order - from the 17th)
Ever heard of Guadalupe National Park? Nah, me neither! It's actually in Texas (has the highest peak in that state at 8749'), but it was easiest for us to make a day's drive from Carlsbad to see it. In the name of keeping it wild, there are practically no roads through it. Thus, it lends itself more to hiking and backpacking. We got there kind of late in the day (and they close the few roads early - 4:30 or so!) so only got a quick sampling experience, but that looked like it might have been enough... Too deserty for our taste overall. We were told that up on top were full-on forests. We'll have to take their word for it for now. McKittrick Canyon (hike-in) looks cool for fall colors, but I have no idea if we'll ever find ourselves that far afield again. Maybe someday...

  1. Carrie - Just found your blog. Welcome to the road!
Your photos and reports are great.

Like you, we're traveling in a Tour. Same year. Same color. Different floor plan. We have a few bugs to have taken care of, too. It's all part of having a new MH!

We look forward to more stories and pics and meeting you on the road one day. You'll sure be easy to spot, and vice versa! Safe travels.
