Downtown Clayton

Next destination was Clayton, NY. Actually the intended visit was for Kingston, Ontario, Canada. But we didn't want to go through all the rigamarole of border crossings here for just a day or two, so we stayed on the US side. Clayton, Alexandria Bay - both part of the beautiful and popular Thousand Islands area - along the St. Lawrence River, which flows from Lake Ontario into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and, ultimately, into the Atlantic Ocean. Kingston lies diagonally across from Clayton, where the river meets the lake.
Clayton is a cute, small town - with a lot of water activity along its shores.

And fittingly enough, the Antique Boat Museum, which Bill enjoyed exploring.

Both homes and business share the shore.

A lot of nice homes,...
a cool playground (excuse the water drops, but it was raining!),...

and beautifully kept yards!

And some really friendly folks, like this sweet kitty who came out in the rain just to say Hi to a passerby - me!

Sort of unusual exteriors (maybe not unusual for the area, just to me!).
