On July 28th, we moved to Mansfield, MA. We chose this spot because it seemed like a good location for what we wanted to do and because of an RV park there. It had received decent reviews on-line, and we even got a recommendation from a fellow Schenectady camper to go there. It also wasn't quite as expensive as most of the other RV parks in eastern MA were. All that said, we hated it!!!! The "fun" started right at the entrance, when we were told that either we'd have to leave the motorcycle out in front (ready for anyone to steal, and totally inconveniently located for us!), PUSH it from our space to outside the park before starting the motor (very nice option=a 10-minute push, including an uphill section!), or just leave it parked at our site! There wasn't a word about this on their website or during the phone call when I made the reservation. Needless to say, we were pissssssssssssssssssed! Had there been anywhere else decent to go, we would've just turned around and left!!!
The "fun" continued as we drove through the park to find our site. The above photo shows the one pretty scene enroute. I realize now I really should've taken some pictures of all the ugly parts, but alas, I have nothing to show the disgustingness of this place! Funny, I guess there is ONE thing I don't generally take pictures of - a dump. That's what this place most resembled, only one crowded with people, mixed in with all the junk!! Oh well, you can take my word for it. Or you can look at the reviews it got - lots of 1s and 2s (out of 10, 10 being great, 1 being terrible), and one reviewer who summed it up perfectly: "Drove in. Drove out."
