Alma

Alma is the little townlette just down the hill from the Fundy National Park. Wikipedia puts its population at 301, and I'm thinking that might be an exaggeration. This is where you go to really see the tide change. But you have to be patient if you want to watch the whole thing, and we're not! It takes on average, 6 hours and 13 min. between a high and a low tide.

Alma had lobster signs all over the place, so we were getting all set for reliving our delicious Maine experience! However, sadly disappointed. These places seemed to just serve cold lobsters to eat on the porch (not good on cloudy, cold days!) or to take home...?? Not what we had in mind. So we ended up elsewhere for dinner. But, as the saying goes, when life closes a door, it often opens a window! And yes, that's even true for food!! And so we wound up eating at a hotel restaurant (with a great window-view table) and got their combo special - a bit of lobster, a bit of bacon-wrapped scallops, and a bit of breaded shrimp. Oh man. I'm not really that big of a shrimp fan. But we went back there one more night, just so I could get their shrimp again! They were by far the best shrimp I've ever had!!! So, if you ever find yourself in Alma, go here: http://www.parklandvillageinn.com/english/restaurant.htm and get the shrimp!!!!!!!!!

OK, so this is not exactly the same scene as the other one, but use your imagination! It's close enough. Tide in, tide out. But if you really want to compare apples to apples (and not apples to grape-flavored apples - yes, they have such things nowadays! weird, I know), see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Alma_Lowtide.JPG .
