Running with the Withlacoochee!

I love boat rides! And one of the neatest things we did was a water tour that combined two rivers - the Rainbow River and the Withlacoochee (don't you just love their names!!!). If you ever should find yourselves in or near Dunnellon, FL, we would HIGHLY recommend this outfit: http://www.singingrivertours.com/ For the amazingly low price of $10/person, we were treated to comfy seats on a nice pontoon boat for a 2-hr cruise through such gorgeous scenery!
Here you can see where the totally different water from the two rivers mix - or rather, converge. I'm not sure how much they mix! Rather, they just coexist, I think!
The Rainbow River, just like the Rainbow Springs, is clear turquoise-reflecting water. Wow, beautiful!!!

With water like that, even dead stuff looks good in it!

Then we entered the Withlacoochee (pronounced just like it looks: with-la-coo-chee!). Brown because of the tree tannins. The water may be less "flashy," but it is full of life. Chock full of turtles, for one thing!

And full of...? You guessed it! My favorite! Gators!! But you'll have to click on this image and enlarge it for sure - this is a little baby onw swimming by us. Probably all of about a foot long! Now c'mon, that's cute!!! (I'm going to get you guys thinking my way on this one before this is over!!)

And the singing part of "Singing River Tours..." He was pretty good too.

A real log-full!

And then there was this guy. Now he was a bit bigger than a foot long! And he headed right over towards the turtles, and...

Nothing happened. They seem to just share the space, most of the time anyways, I guess. We saw him swim right past other turtles who were just floating in the water. In fact, I thought I heard one of the turtles holler, "Howdy Neighbor!" Of course, he might've been talking to us.

Just some cool swirly-do reflections from our boat as we returned to dock. Not bad for $10, eh?!!! Better git yourselves to Dunnellon, my friends!
